Add milk of your choice and oats into a pan and bring to the boil, stirring regularly with the wrong end of a wooden spoon or traditional porridge spurtle
Once the porridge reaches boiling point, reduce heat and simmmer for a minimum of 5 minutes – ideally 10-15. Stir intermittently to make sure it doesn’t stick.
Chop pear and when you are ready to serve the porridge, stir in the cacao, pour into bowls and top with the chopped pear and a drizzle of maple syrup.
