why choose us?

Hi! We're Emma and Caroline, co-founders of Eat Drink Live Well

For nearly 20 years, we’ve been helping people uncover and address the root causes of their health concerns when conventional approaches have left them searching for more answers. Using a functional medicine approach, we take the time to listen to your unique story, explore potential hidden triggers, and work in partnership with you to develop a personalised strategy to help you move towards your health goals.

Our approach combines clinical expertise, realistic lifestyle and dietary recommendations, and functional lab testing (including nutrigenomics) to provide tailored support. We aim to help you cut through the overwhelm of complicated research, online forums, and AI searches. Health isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about coming back to basics, exploring restorative lifestyle practices, enjoying nourishing foods, improving sleep, and living in alignment with our genes to support long-term well-being.
We met while studying together at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in 2002 and had no idea back then of the journey we would take together. Over the years, we have not only worked alongside each other but have also built a deep and lifelong friendship. We’ve faced our own health and life challenges and have always been grateful for the knowledge and practices that have helped us maintain our well-being.
We believe our unique perspectives and skill sets allow us to offer meaningful guidance to those we work with, and we would love to invite you to learn more about us—and to join our amazing community of clients on their journey toward better health.

Hello! It’s important to us that we have a personal connection and rapport with everyone we work with – so here’s where you can find out a little more about who we are!

Emma Jamieson

BA(Hons), Dip ION, AFMCP, mBANT, mCNHC, DSH Nutritional Therapist, Functional Medicine Practitioner, and Homeopath

Hi, I’m Emma! I’m a qualified Nutritional Therapist, Functional Medicine Practitioner, and Homeopath. For nearly 20 years, I’ve worked in our busy clinic, while also writing for books, magazines, and websites. Nutrition is incredibly important to me, but so is keeping it real, simple, and achievable. It’s easy to become overwhelmed by nutrition at the expense of enjoyment. I’ve been there, and I’ve learned that food should be both nourishing and satisfying—no joy comes from crunching on raw cauliflower while sipping a spirulina smoothie!

As a mother, I understand the need for practical, quick, and nutritious meals. I love creating simple strategies that make eating well effortless and enjoyable. Meals should be fun, not fanatical. I strongly believe in maintaining a balanced approach to food, where health and pleasure go hand in hand.
Since qualifying in 2006, I’ve continued my education, completing the AFMCP (Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice) course with the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2017. Functional Medicine focuses on the person, not the disease—it’s about understanding how past experiences and exposures contribute to health imbalances. I love playing detective, piecing together the puzzle, and supporting clients on their path to better health.
For many, simply focusing on the foundations of health—clean food, water, air, environment, and mindfulness—can be transformative. Others may require deeper exploration into genetic susceptibilities, microbiome imbalances, or other contributing factors. This is why I am so passionate about what we do in our clinic: providing both foundational and advanced support to help individuals find what truly works for them.
In addition to my work in functional medicine and nutrition, I have a deep interest in grief and trauma support. I am currently training to be a grief coach, expanding my expertise to help individuals navigate loss and emotional resilience. Grief and trauma can have profound effects on health, and I am committed to integrating this understanding into my practice to offer compassionate, holistic support to those who need it.

Caroline Sherlock

BA(ss), Dip ION, IFMCP, mBANT, mCNHC, mISEAI Nutritional Therapist, IFM Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Bredesen ReCode 2.0 Certified, Mould Literate Practitioner, CIRS Proficiency Partner, TNMI Certified Coach

Hey, I’m Caroline! My career began in the fast-paced world of international banking in London. I loved the travel, the amazing people I met, and the incredible food I experienced. But over time, the high-pressure corporate world took a toll on my health. When conventional medicine couldn’t provide the answers I needed, I turned to a Nutritional Therapist as a last resort. With simple dietary and lifestyle changes, my health transformed in just a few months, sparking a passion that led me to leave the corporate world behind. I retrained as a Personal Trainer and, in 2006, graduated with distinction as a Nutritional Therapist from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition.

Since then, I’ve built a thriving private practice, volunteered with our regulatory body (BANT), and spent a decade as a tutor, lecturer, and assessor at ION. I now also mentor other practitioners, sharing the knowledge I’ve gained over the years.
My passion for learning is ongoing! In 2015, I trained with the Institute for Functional Medicine in the USA, becoming one of only a handful of UK-based IFM Certified Practitioners. I am also a Certified Bredesen Protocol ReCode 2.0 Practitioner (focused on cognitive decline/Alzheimer’s), a Certified Mould Literate Practitioner with Dr. Jill Crista, a Shoemaker Certified Proficiency Partner in CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) and a behavioural change/alcohol recovery coach for This Naked Mind Institute.
I’m an active member of the International Society for Environmentally Acquired Illness (ISEAI) and am currently pursuing a Fellowship in Psychiatry with Dr. James Greenblatt. As a certified LifecodeGx nutrigenomics practitioner, I integrate genetic insights into my work, helping clients understand how to work with, rather than against, their unique genetic predispositions.
Through my own experiences with histamine sensitivity and mould exposure, I’ve developed a deep passion for helping others navigate these challenges. My goal is to raise awareness and provide accessible, practical solutions that help individuals feel their best—without making things overly complicated.
Beyond my clinical work, I also am founder of Alcohol Freedom Coaching, where I help high achievers take a successful break from alcohol to reset their health and energy.
I’ve been privileged to share my insights on podcasts, radio, and practitioner training events. Outside of work, I’m a busy mother of two teenagers (and two dogs!), a passionate foodie, an enthusiastic (if occasionally frustrated!) gardener, and an avid traveller.
If my approach resonates with you, I’d love to chat.
